  ABOUT ME

Adeline Buenaventura was born in the Philippines.

Orphaned in her early childhood, she spent four years in a convent while pursuing her studies where she also developed her passion with nature. With a change of geographical location after she got married to a French national, she was very much into museum visits, learning French culture and language while travelling between Paris and Cannes. Arrived in Paris in 1996, where she studied French language, floral and Ikebana art composition.

During this time with the help of her early exposure to nature in her childhood, she started to work as a florist in Paris and Antibes. Being a florist was her stepping stone to being an artist today. Her work in creating and composing different floral art, graphics and mixing of colours was directly reflected to her artwork.

Self-taught mixed media artist, passionate for colours and graphics, inspired by "pop art", Adeline designs, draws, and paints free hand with always fun, bright and eclectic colours on her cheerful sculptures made of resin reinforced with fiberglass and marble powder, and infused with voluptuous roundness and sensual lines with a very elaborate glazed surface, the greatest originality of her work is also in the amazingly smooth deep aspect of each sculpture, which once finished looks as if it is blown glass or porcelain.

Always seeking to reinvent, experiment, and perfect her careful process, the artist has recently been inspired to explore fluid acrylics and pigments on canvas boards and resin frames with a large palette of colours, to create abstract forms full of movement, with a striking result.

Later expatriated to Bangkok, where she has co-founded PAJ Art Studio with her ex-husband in 2011 to 2016, she co-created several sculptures under duo name “Artheline”. The Collection included Sumo, Venus, Ballerina, Hippop’Art, Goril’pop, and Whale pop collections. The sculptures are known for their fun, eclectic, brightly colored and voluptuous form.

The fruits of her labor and her most important art installation was at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore in 2015 where 40 hippos and a life-size whale pop were installed and graced the hotel’s gardens, lobby and outside quays. She also collaborated a painting a workshop with 30 children for the benefit of the Straits Times children charity fund at the same hotel.  She also collaborated in the creations and exhibition of the Little Prince Collection and Little Prince in the dark at the Fullerton Hotel in Singapore in 2015.

In 2016, She created her own studio, Buenaventura Art Gallery in Bangkok where she currently lives. Her most recent creations are the Jungle pop Elephant, Jungle pop Panda collections, abstract and pop art paintings.

Her new sculpture the “Jungle pop Panda collection” was selected and showcased at the 7th Ras Al Khaimah Fine Art Festival in the United Arab Emirates and has won the 1st prize award for the sculpture category. It was exhibited at the National Museum of Ras AL Khaimah last February 2019.

Her work catches a lot of attention and has become immensely successful. Adeline Buenaventura’s works are in private collections, installed in many public and private spaces, hotels and architectural spaces in Asia and worldwide, and are being exhibited in many international art fairs and galleries around Asia, Europe and US since the last 7 years.

“I long to bring shining stars in the public’s eyes and to contribute through Art to the universal search for happiness”
